Hop, on s’arręte, on télécharge et on joue. C’est pratiquement tout ce qu’il y a dire sur ce jeu.
Sorti sous le nom de Fun Tracks en français (c’est toujours un mot anglophone mais bon…), Ignition est un « petit » jeu de course auto. Enfin, quand j’écris petit, j’évoque en fait son seul défaut : le peu de circuits disponibles (sept, ça fait pas long). Voilŕ, passé le paragraphe des griefs, on peut maintenant commencer le long passage des éloges.
Le principe est épuré au maximum : on choisit une voiture sympa (jeep, bus scolaire, voiture de police, buggy, trucks, etc.), un mode de jeu (championnat, course contre un fantôme, course unique et un mode poursuite oů ŕ chaque tour, le dernier explose) et c’est parti. C’est du pur bonheur. La vue dispo est une caméra de haut légčrement inclinée (cf. photo). C’est tout en 3D, c’est trčs joli et c’est surtout trčs fluide. Les circuits regorgent d’obstacles divers (avalanches, chutes de pierre, tornades, Camions qui traversent la route, big jump, etc.) et les adversaires nous poussent et nous harcčlent dans tous les sens. Il n’y a ni gestion des dégâts ni gestion de l’essence mais ça n’a pas d’importance. Quand on tombe ou qu’on explose, on réapparaît quelque instant aprčs pour se venger et exploser le responsable de nos malheurs. Le mode championnat est marrant et on débloque de nouveaux circuits et de nouvelles voitures ŕ chaque étape.
Il est ŕ noter qu’on peut jouer en réseau et plus particuličrement ŕ deux sur le męme poste. Le bonheur est alors plus que total. On approche de l’extase vidéo ludique.

This game is an absolute gem! Ignition is one of those rare racing titles on the PC that ISN'T sports orientated & pretentious. It doesn't take itself very seriously infact, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't! The tracks (although there are only seven) are nigh-on DEVIOUS and take plenty of practice in time trials and single races to master. You'll be delighted to many varied envirnoments, all posing there own tricks & obstacles, - I really mean this when I say it - no single track is the same as any other! ; )
Every track has its own challenges from winding ravines & perilous gorges, to bubbling volcanoes and dodging high-speed trains: Ignition oozes plenty of playability and chracter.

Speaking of character, the vehicles really do shine own their own! Dinky little, toy-like, vehicles that seem to be taken out of a child's 'Hot Wheels' collection, really do handle in their own ways. Note the Acceleration, Grip and Speed of each vehicle. Each vehicle is equipped with a booster that charages in a mattter of seconds but has to be used at the correct time to make vital ground, reduce time and overtake your opponents! [NB: Experiment with various vehicles in different tracks, find one that is most rewarding and comfortable to you, then kick-ass in the Single Races & Championships!] The premise of the game being a simple race title seems more in tune with wacky racers cartoons & the cannonball run films (although there are no gadgets or weapons). Who needs weapons when a great game such as this tests one thing only: skill. Perhaps the most important facet of the gameplay, you have to have working know-how of the tracks and be able to take difficult turnings and decide on the route that gets you first!! The sheer fun of this game comes down to throttling (no pun intended) your opponents with complete ruthlessness! Of course, at the time of its release, it had to contend with graphically beautiful but mundane high-production value racing games.

Which brings us to the next area, presentation. The graphics are of high-quality and the tracks stunningly rendered in 3D. Although it may seem a tad dated now, it is still a great looking game in similar style to Micro Machines V3. Although music can be played from any CD you prefer (which I consider a better feature than in-game music!), you'll really appreciate the sound. Thunder, rain, cars skidding on tarmac, the sound of passing hovercraft over clear blue water: Ignition really makes efforts to create ambience and atmosphere to where-ever you are racing. Also, each care has its own trademark noise when turbo boosting and the horns are cute and ironic (do you need to use them in a game like this?).

Overall I'd give this game high recommendation, it is short-lived and it may not last as long as other races and at times can seem frustrating with tough tracks. Despite these niggles, Ignition is not to be missed! A great offbeat racing experience that was quickly over-looked on the PC! You have been given the 'all-clear' to download this game right now!

Na pierwszy rzut oka gra wydawać się może że jest to troszke ulepszona graficznie podróbka Micro Machines. Jednak każdy kto tak uważa jest w błędzie.
Gra ta ma zupełnie unikalny klimat i teraz po krótce o tym opowiem. Ładnie wykonane i przejrzyste menu od razu przykuwa uwagę, nie ma sie do czego przyczepić - wszystkie opcje są zrozumiałe, a poruszanie po nich wygodne. Są tam tryb singleplayer, multiplayer jak i ustawianie podstawowych opcji takich jak poziom trudności, glośności dzwiękow, czy zmiana imienia 1-wszego i 2-giego gracza. Teraz pokrótce o trybach - Singleplayer:
Mamy do dyspozycji Championship, który na każdym poziomie trudności przedstawia coś nowego (na początku po przejsciu championshipa uzyskujemy dostęp do trudniejszych poziomów trudności, a po przejściu ostatniego (MIRROR - wszystkie trasy odwrócone) mamy również dodatkowe samochody (w tym tytułowy IGNITION). Oprócz championship mamy Single Race (pozwala trenować wybrane trasy), Time Trial (to samo co poprzednie + możliwość ścigania się z własnym duchem - GHOST CAR) i ostatni równie ciekawy tryb
PURSUE MODE, w ktorym po każdym okrążeniu ostatni z zawodników 'opuszcza' z hukiem wyścig. Samochody są dość zróżnicowane, jednak mój ulubiony to SCHOOL BUS, czyli po prostu autobus szkolny. Efekty dźwiękowe są bardzo starannie dopasowane (szczęgólnie te uaktywniane przy użyciu turbo :) Kończąc tę recenzję muszę dodać,
że najlepszą zabawę gwarantuje tryb Multiplayer, bo kto nie lubi wygrywać z wlasnym rodzenstwem, czy z kolegami z klasy (na lekcjach informatyki:)) Podsumowując zabawa jest
przednia i przedstawiciel każdej grupy wiekowej znajdzie w tej grze coś dla siebie.

IGNITION (qui veut dire CONTACT) porte ici bien son nom, dans tous les sens du terme.
Jeu d'arcade ou course de voitures : les deux mon capitaine !! :o)).
Aux commandes d'un des véhicules dispo (voitures diverses, camionnettes, bus d'école, ...), vous affrontez vos adversaires sur des différents circuits, chacun truffés d'obstacles en tous genres (pierres, huiles, neige, ...) et ŕ la difficulté croissante.
Dans ce jeu, vous n'aurez qu'un seul souci : TERMINER DEVANT. Et ce n'est pas des plus faciles. Męme si il n'y a pas de gestion des dommages ou de l'essence, la tâche va ętre suffisament compliquée : les adversaires sont sans pitié !!
Côté graphisme, que du bon. Les couleurs sont sympas et les bolides sont funs. Les circuits, avec différentes conditions climatiques, sont bien rendus.
Côté gameplay, pas de mystčre, c'est de l'arcade et de la bonne. Facile au début mais, au fil des circuits qui s'ouvre (quand vous gagnez !!! :o)) ), les places d'honneurs seront réservés aux plus habiles.
Côté prise en main et animation, pas de problčme. La fluidité et la qualité de l'animation (dérapages, ...) font de ce jeu un MUIST-HAVE.
Un seul petit regret (moi aussi) : pas assez de circuits.
On se marre tellement avec ce jeu qu'on voudrait presque un 'construction kit', c'est dire !!!
