Hra je svým zaměřením kombinací adventury a RPG. Ve hře se střídá den a noc a podle toho se také mění herní prostředí. Hrdina má také své potřeby - musí spát a jíst, aby se doléčil a obnovil si životní energii a manu. Také musí procvičovat a zdokonalovat své vlastnosti, aby mohl uspět v těžších úkolech ke konci hry.Stejně jako v předchozích dílech má hráč na výběr ze tří postav - bojovníka,kouzelníka a zloděje. Je taky možné importovat si hrdinu z předešlého dílu serie.
Příběh perfektně navazuje Quest for Glory II: Trial by fire. Děj se odehrává asi 2 nebo 3 měsíce po konci druhého dílu, kde hrdina zneškodnil ďábelského mága Ad Avise. Při jeho smrti se do světa uvolnilo neuvěřitelné množství temné magie a ve Východní Fricaně se otevřela brána do světa démonů. Hrdina se rozloučí s adoptivním otcem-sultánem- a spolu s linotaurem Rakeeshem a bojovnicí Uhurou ze kmene Simbani se vydává magickým portálem do linotauřího města Tarny. V Tarně se mluví o válce mezi kmeny Simbani a Leoprdími lidmi, kteří údajně pozabíjeli mírovou delegaci z Tarny, ve které byla i Rakeeshova dcera. Hrdina je spolu s Rakeeshem zprostředkovatelem mírového procesu, kdy se snaží usmířit oba domorodé kmeny a zjistit pravdu o přepadení mírové expedice. Po procestování savany, džungle,Tarny,vesnice kmene Simbani a Leopardích lidí se nakonec hrdina dostane do Ztraceného města, kde je otevřená brána kterou na svět proudí démoni. Princi ze Shapeiru se však podaří bránu do světa démonů uzavřít a usmířit všechny účastníky možného válečného konfliktu. Ale než stačí propuknot bujaré oslavy je hrdina přenesen černou magií daleko od svých přátel neznámo kam... A to už je QFG 4.

Wel this is the best game in the Quest for Glory series, as simple as that. It has a great story, good atmoshpere, and finally a User Friendly interface.

The game starts when the second episode ended, the killing of a mad wizard by a 'Hero'(who would be US)..as a prize we are given the title of 'Prince', but talks of a war in the land of Rakesh obscure the victory, as our friend is forced to leave Shapeir and join his/its race, and of course, what heroes would us be, if we'd abandon a friend when he most need us? Right, we wouldn't be heroes, but something else. ;)

So everything begins in a city led by 'Leotaurs', a strange mix of lion and human body, and at least in the beginnning, you are 'free' to explore the town, and do whatever you please, but in a second moment you have to convince the council of the town to help a village attacked by a group of shapeshifters, as the war becomes nearer every day...and as if this is not enought, there are talks of a 'demon' in the far east.

Controls are very good, and you can do whatever you want in an instinctive method, plus the presence of three characters (warrior, mage, thief) adds longevity to the game, allowing a good 'replayability' value..plus, the puzzles are very clever(at least most of the time)and require serious consideration by the gamer to be solved.

Technically we're at good levels, graphics are clean, and animations are well done, expecially the faces of the NPCs we'll meet. Music does its work in a damn fine manner, and the songs are always fitting the scene..there's not much else to say, just download the game, it's worth your time.

Das dritte Spiel in der fünfteiligen Serie Quest for Glory besticht durch seine gute Graphik. Es ist das erste Spiel, in dem man den Helden komplett mit der Maus lenkt. Keine lästigen Eingaben mit dem Keyboard mehr... Es hat dadurch allerdings ein bißchen an Spannung verloren. Das Sprechen mit Charakteren wird oft nur mehr ein Durchklicken von Themen, ohne daß man wirklich überlegen muß, wonach man diesen Charakter nun eigentlich fragen will.
Wie beim Rest der Serie handelt es sich um ein Abenteuerspiel mit Rollenspielelementen: man kann wählen, ob man als Dieb, Magier oder Kämpfer spielt bzw. den Helden aus dem vorigen Spiel importieren. Und da eröffnet sich dann noch eine vierte Möglichkeit: wenn der Held im vorigen Spiel ein Paladin geworden ist, kann man dieses Spiel vollständig als Paladin spielen. Der Kämpfer hat auch die Möglichkeit später im Spiel zum Paladin zu werden. Nebenquests für die verschiedenen Charakterklassen gibt es hier weniger, insbesondere der Dieb kommt zu kurz.
Es droht Krieg zwischen den Simbani, einem Volk der Steppe, das Magie verabscheut wie die Pest, und den Leopardenmenschen, einem Volk des Dschungels, für die Magie zum täglichen Leben gehört. Aufgabe des Helden ist es nun, sich bei beiden Völkern Respekt zu verschaffen und zu vermitteln, bzw. herauszufinden wer oder was diese Probleme ausgelöst hat.
Das Spiel ist interessant, beim ersten Durchspielen auch sehr faszinierend, im Gegensatz zu den anderen Spielen dieser Serie aber eher schwach. Trotzdem ein definitives Muß für alle QfG-Fans.

A sorozat harmadik darabja egy kis csavarral került be a sorozatba, hiszen a második rész végén nem ezt reklámozták, hanem a későbbi negyediket. Mindegy. A második részben megismert Leontaur lovag, Rakeesh kéri segítségünket, és mint hősök természetesen a segítségére sietünk. A történet igényesen felépített, bár a negyedik rész sokkal jobb.
Ha valaki most kezdi a játékot, akkor három osztályból választhat, varázsló, harcos és tolvaj. Akik játszottak bármelyik előző résszel az játszhat lovagként, ha importálja az elmentett karakterét. Érdemes minden karakterrel végigjátszani mert a feladatok minden osztálynál változnak.
A feladatok nem idegesítőek és jól illenek a történetbe, ellenben a harc még mindíg nem az igazi, mivel egy félbevágott embert látsz félig hátulról a nagy feketeségben, ezért nem túl atmoszférikus. Az irányítás már az új ikonos rendszer, mivel az első rész remake-je után készült, ezért senkinek nem lehet vele semmi problémája.
